Terms of Service

By accessing or using Contacts (https://contacts.scc.im), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Service Description

Contacts is a CardDAV-based contact synchronization service. We provide a server that stores your contact data (vCards) and synchronizes it with compatible clients such as DAVx5, Apple Contacts, and Thunderbird.

2. Accounts

• You must provide a valid username and password to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use this service.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

• CardDAV sync requires an active subscription.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time through the Subscription page. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
• Abuse, overload, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service.
• Store content that violates applicable laws.

5. Your Data

• You retain ownership of all contact data you store on the service.
• You can export your data at any time in vCard, CSV, or JSON format.
• You can delete your contacts and addressbooks at any time.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant that any data stored on the service will be preserved, accurate, or available at any time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operator of this service be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the service.
• Any loss or corruption of data.
• Any interruption or cessation of the service.
• Any unauthorized access to your account or data.
• Any other matter relating to the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Italy.
